Integrative Health Institute hosts Women’s Wellness Day

Held May 4th, the event explored the transformative effects of integrative healthcare and featured speakers including Wayne Jonas, MD, the executive director of Samueli Integrative Health Programs at H&S Ventures, who oversees efforts to expand awareness of and access to evidence-based integrative health practices. Dr. Jonas spoke on his recently published book “How Healing Works.” Elizabeth Blackburn, PhD, an Australian-American Nobel laureate and current president of the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, served as keynote speaker for the event and presented “How Can Science Advance Healthy Aging.” “As promised, this day was filled with numerous integrative health insights…and a rather large dose of inspiration,” said Sheila Peterson, advisory board chair for SSIHI. The lead sponsor for Women’s Wellness Day was Microsemi Corporation. The morning sponsors included Bank of America, U.S. Trust and Merrill Lynch. The afternoon session was sponsored by UCI Health. The Allergan Foundation and Silverado sponsored the healthy break.
