Candace Borders and Omid Moshtaghi, two UCI medical students from the Class of 2018, are the recipients of the 2018 Meyskens Clinical Research Award.
Named in honor of Frank L. Meyskens, Jr., MD, FACP, a professor of medicine, biological chemistry, and public health, and founding director and senior advisor for the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Meyskens Clinical Research Award is given each year to one or more graduating seniors obtaining their MD degree. Winners are selected based on their high potential for a career in clinical research with an emphasis on translational-oriented research. The Meyskens award has been in existence for more than 20 years recognizing students doing research in a wide spectrum of disciplines.
