Serving as editor-in-chief of the recently published two-volume book titled, “Physiology of the Gastrointestinal Tract,” is Hamid Said, PhD, PharmD, a professor of physiology and biophysics and professor of medicine at the UCI School of Medicine.
“Congratulations to Dr. Said. We are very proud to count him as one of our senior research career scientists and a shining example of the extraordinary research scientists that comprise the VA research enterprise,” said Kimberlee Potter, PhD, scientific program manager for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, DC.
Christopher Reist, MD, MBA, associate chief of staff for Research & Development at the Long Beach VA Healthcare System added, “This ‘treatise’ is 3000 pages long and is considered the primary textbook on GI physiology and pathophysiology. It is truly an honor to have this prominent publication originating from our two campuses.” Published in March 2018, the book is available through Elsevier, Inc.
