Did you know that TWIA will soon be issuing Certificates of Compliance on Completed Construction? 

You’ve previously heard from us about a law enacted by the Texas Legislature in 2015 that changes the windstorm certification process. This law requires the Commissioner of Insurance to adopt administrative rules that will govern the new process by December 31, 2016. While we await the publication of these rules before finalizing all aspects of the program that involve TWIA, we wanted to let you know that this change is coming soon!  

This program will enable a person to apply to TWIA for a certificate of compliance for completed construction, while certificates for ongoing construction will still be issued by the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI). You may review the proposed rules on the TDI website.

Between now and January 1, 2017 when the new process will begin, we will be sharing with you as many details as we can. Please look out for a special Agent Bulletin with more information on this subject before December 21.
