Depopulation Policyholder Opt Out Period in Progress
Policyholder period in the Assumption program began on December 1

The policyholder opt out period of the Assumption Reinsurance Depopulation Program (Assumption program) is in progress. Beginning on December 1, policyholders with approved offers (offers agents selected) in the Assumption program were sent Notice of Offers letters from TWIA and the participating company.

Policyholders will have until May 31, 2017 to opt out of the program and remain with TWIA. If a policyholder wants their policy to transfer to the new carrier, they do not need to take any action. Their policy will automatically transfer on June 1, 2017.

The agent selection period of the program ended on October 31. If your agency reviewed and approved offers from participating companies under the Assumption program, you can review the list of approved depopulation offers for your agency on the depopulation website to verify which policyholders will be contacted.

No policyholders will be contacted unless you (their agent) have previously approved an offer under the Assumption program.
