We had a wonderful and competitive pool of applicants for each award, and we appreciate your involvement in mentorship here at the School of Medicine. Each of the below awardees will be interviewed, along with their mentee, by an Academic Affairs Associate Dean to discuss their experience, insights, and advice on faculty mentoring. We look forward to continuing to recognize outstanding mentorship work in future years.

Clinical Science Faculty Mentor of the Year Brian Wong, PhD, Professor of Otolaryngology, for his many years of dedication to mentoring translational and clinical faculty.
Basic Science Clinical Faculty Mentor of the Year Peter Donovan, PhD, Professor of Biological Chemistry, for his many years of selfless mentoring of and advocacy for junior faculty.
Equity and Diversity in Mentoring Award Dorota Skowronska-Krawczyk, PhD, Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Physiology & Biophysics, for leading the Women in Vision Research Program.
Innovation in Mentoring Award Sam Lai, MD, Assistant Clinical Professor, Medicine, and Bindu Swaroop, MD, Associate Clinical Professor, Medicine, for their leadership in the LIGHT Program (Leading through Inspiration, Growth, and Teaching).
