Chicago Community Loan Fund’s 25th Anniversary Celebration

On October 13, FHLBC staff attended the Chicago Community Loan Fund’s (CCLF) 25th Anniversary Celebration at the Stony Island Arts Bank. CCLF was named a Community First® Fund Partner in July 2015. Fox Prairie Homes Grand Opening

FHLBC staff member, Brandon Methu, attended the Fox Prairie Homes Grand Opening on October 24. The FHLBC made a $720,000 Affordable Housing Program award to Fox Prairie Homes; IFF is the member and Brinshore PL-II Corp. is the sponsor. This project rehabilitated vacant and foreclosed single family homes to provide affordable rental housing in Aurora, Illinois. (Photo Credit: Olga Lopez)

 

Housing Action Illinois Conference

Housing Action Illinois hosted their 2016 Housing Matters! Conference in Bloomington, Illinois on October 27-28. FHLBC Community Investment Vice President, Tim Klont, presented on the Bank’s competitive Affordable Housing Program (AHP) and Downpayment Plus® Programs (DPP®) at a conference breakout session.  

 

 

 2016 Opportunity Finance Network Conference

From October 24 through October 27, FHLBC staff attended the single largest gathering in the community development financial institution (CDFI) industry, the Opportunity Finance Network’s annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Additionally, on October 26, FHLBC staff hosted the Community First® Fund (CFF) Partner Reception, a celebration honoring CFF partners: Accion Chicago, Chicago Community Loan Fund, Community Reinvestment Fund, Forward Community Investments, IFF, Impact Seven, and Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative Corporation. 

Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative Corporation Annual Luncheon

On December 2, FHLBC staff and members of the Community Investment Advisory Council attended the Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative Corporation's (WWBIC's) annual luncheon in Milwaukee, WI. WWBIC was the first partner of the Community First Fund and helped finance Wolf Peach Restaurant.
