Chromatin dysregulation drives hematologic malignancies, yet the mechanisms linking specific gene mutations to leukemia progression remain incompletely understood. Dr. Crispino will present research on how cohesin gene mutations alter gene expression and promote leukemia progression in Down syndrome, followed by recent work published in Cancer Cell on the role of menin in myeloproliferative disorders and menin inhibition as a potential new therapy. A leader in blood cancer research, Dr. Crispino’s work bridges gene regulation and translational therapeutics to advance treatment for hematologic malignancies.
