DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Angela Fleischman\, MD\, PhD — Associate Professor\, UC Irvine Division of Hematology/Oncology\; Program Co-Leader\, Systems\, Pathways & Targets\, UC Irvine Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.\n\nMutant blood stem cells can gain a competitive advantage over healthy stem cells\, yet the evolutionary forces driving this process remain incompletely understood. Dr. Fleischman will present research into how inflammation and other selective pressures shape clonal hematopoiesis and disease progression — and the implications for early intervention in blood cancers.
