The School of Medicine recently held an event to honor community members who have chosen to donate their bodies to the UC Irvine Willed Body Program. Each year, more than a thousand Californians make an extraordinary gift to the University of California by donating their bodies to support the education of health professionals and to advance scientific research. Our first- and second-year medical students, along with faculty members, took part in this solemn ceremony honoring their silent teachers and thanking their family members for the knowledge they have gained through this humbling experience.
