Dr. Chantelle Rein-Smith, PhD, CMPP completed her PhD in Molecular and Medical Genetics at the Oregon Health & Science University in 2010. She then moved onto a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Rein-Smith then transitioned into Whitsell Innovations as a medical writer and consultant. Topics of this talk include how medical writing is different from academic publications, skillset required, and ways to pursue a similar path.

The Life Beyond Ph.D. Series showcases various STEM workforce careers and “N of 1” journeys. These fire-side style chats are intended to be informal and casual so that current graduate students (PhDs and Postdoctoral Trainees) can explore various careers, identify critical skills required to succeed and connect to the industries of their interest.
