Cyrus K. Dastir, MD
Biography




Dr. Dastur is an Associate Clinical Professor of Neurology and Neurological Surgery and Director of the Neurosciences Care ICU and Stepdown units at UCI Health. He completed medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine, an internship in Internal Medicine at Allegheny General Hospital, Neurology Residency at UCI School of Medicine, followed by Neurocritical Care fellowship at UT Southwestern School of Medicine.
In 2010, after completing fellowship, he joined UT Southwestern School of Medicine as Assistant Professor in Neurology and Neurological Surgery, during which time he helped establish the Neurocritical Care service at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX, and served as its Medical Director.
In 2012, he was recruited to UC Irvine Health as Director of Neurocritical Care and the founding director of the Neurocritical Care Fellowship Program. He currently serves on several operational, administrative, and quality and safety committees, and in December 2021 he became Director of Medical Ethics for UCI Health. His areas of interest include acute management of intracerebral hemorrhage, ischemic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, clinical informatics & medical ethics.
He currently holds board certifications in Neurology, Neurocritical Care, and Clinical Informatics.
