Across Colorado and western Kansas, we are united around one remarkable Mission, binding core Values, and a shared Vision – every community, every neighborhood, every life – whole and healthy.
In February, we announced our new logo and brand identity in celebration of our 25th Anniversary. Now, we invite you to join Peter D. Banko, our President & CEO, as we honor our legacy and move forward together as a 139-year-old connected ecosystem.
We will hold a livestream on July 15 at 10 a.m. MT (11 a.m. CT) with remarks from Peter, followed by an opportunity for dialogue about our successes and challenges throughout the historic crisis as well as our priorities for the coming year – supporting you, growing our healing ministry, and finding our “next normal.”
Click here to easily save this livestream meeting to your calendar. If you would like to submit questions in advance, you may email them to the OfficeoftheCEO@centura.org by July 13.
Our 25th Anniversary celebration will also include a special gift for our incredible people and wellbeing activities in honor of the milestone focused on caring for your whole health – mind, body and spirit. Look for more information about local festivities in the coming days!
Thank you for your unstoppable energy and ongoing commitment to amplifying our shared ministry!
Sebastien (Seb) Girard, MBA, joins Centura Health on July 12 as our new Senior Vice President & Chief People Officer. Get to know Seb as he begins his role in our ministry.
At Centura Health, we are incredible people on a mission. Can you share your personal mission statement?
I am on a mission to serve, elevate and care for every community, every patient and every associate.
Tell us about yourself.
I am a son, a husband and a proud dad of three kids. I like to think I have the best of both worlds – I am Canadian (from Montreal) and American and speak English and French. I moved to the United States 11 years ago and have lived in DC, Boston, Dallas and Charlotte.
What is your professional background?
I have my Master of Business Administration degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Sloan School of Management – whose mission is to develop principled, innovative leaders who improve the world. I am first and foremost a futurist and consider myself a business and social engineer on top of being a human resources executive. In 2015-16, I did a nine-month business humanitarian project in partnership with the International Red Cross and MIT, working in the United States, Switzerland and Bangalore, India, to help attract the brain power of the world’s best engineers to support the “bottom of the pyramids” citizens of India that have mobility obstacles, such as missing limbs, wheelchair needs or Parkinson’s disease. Giving back to our communities and the world is crucial for me.
Tell us about your family.
I am relocating to Denver with my wife, Emily, and our two boys – Lucas (age seven) and Andrew (age five). They are both very active, love the outdoors and are very excited to play sports in Denver, especially soccer, basketball and taking ski lessons. I also have a 24-year-old daughter, Marie-Josianne, who lives in Quebec City and works as a case manager for child protective services. There is not a day that I don’t admire her as my daughter, the woman she became and the career path she chose. She is staying in Quebec City. We also have a corgi named Maddie, who is coming to Colorado with us.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Having two young kids, living my life through their eyes and spending time with my family is the most precious use of my time. We were avid travelers before the pandemic and are looking forward to resuming exploring.
Do you have any favorite sports teams?
I love sports and especially live sporting events. I am an avid Montreal Canadiens fan and grew up watching the rough rivalry between the Habs and the Quebec Nordiques (which became the Colorado Avalanche). As a Patrick Roy fan, the Avs have always had a special place in my heart and I followed them since they moved from Quebec City to Denver. I can’t wait to cheer for Colorado’s teams!
Please join us in welcoming Seb and his family to our connected ecosystem!

As a reminder, to meet the requirements of the 21st Century Cures Act, we will be releasing additional note types to the patient portal beginning at 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 13.
An informational video is now available and accessible on the Learning Home Dashboard (LHD), CuresAct.Centura.org or by clicking here. Our caregivers are encouraged to view the 6-minute video to learn more about the coming changes.
By sharing more health care information with our patients, we are building stronger trust and creating opportunities for richer discussions to improve patient care.
Starting at 6 a.m. July 13, patients will have expanded real-time access to now include the following clinical note types authored by all clinicians across all care settings:
We value the insights you have shared through our associate engagement survey and Focus on Action nursing sessions, and we are committed to tangible action in response to your feedback.
Our delayed starts policy has surfaced as a common pain point across our ministry. We are pleased to share that we will no longer practice delayed starts, effective June 27 at 7 a.m. MT. You can view the updated Staffing Guideline here.
We respect our caregivers’ time, and ensuring fair compensation is a top priority. In order to better support our incredible people and ensure they are compensated for all time dedicated to our ministry, we have launched a new stand-by pay policy effective June 27 at 7 a.m. MT.
An associate will be eligible for stand-by pay when they are contacted prior to their scheduled shift and asked not to come in to work, but asked to remain available should volume, acuity or needs change. During the hours the associate is on stand-by, they will be paid at 25% of their base pay.
To allow more flexibility and better meet the needs of our associates’ full lives, stand-by coverage will last no longer than the first half of the associate’s scheduled shift. View the new policy or speak with your leader for full details about how this new policy may impact you.
Thank you for your ongoing dialogue and partnership as we continue working to make Centura Health the system of choice for our associates, patients and communities!
