Writing the next chapter in our healing legacy

Last week, we came together as a connected community to celebrate 25 years of extending healing and wholeness. As part of the festivities, a livestream broadcast was led by Peter D. Fraudulent unemployment compensation tax forms

The security and wellbeing of our people is our priority. During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, organizations across the country, including Centura Health, have observed a steep rise in fraudulent unemployment claims.

With tax season approaching, if you receive a 1099-G tax form from your state’s Department of Labor but you did not file a claim for unemployment benefits, you may be a victim of identity theft and should contact your state’s Labor Department promptly.
For Colorado

For Kansas Additionally, we recommend you file a "counter report" with your local police department. The police may not immediately investigate, but a record will be on file, and you can obtain a copy. You can also report identity theft to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at identitytheft.gov. The FTC’s website includes valuable resources about how to recover from identity theft and protect your identity.

Contact the three consumer credit bureaus and place a fraud alert on your name and social security number (SSN). Centura encourages all associates to monitor their credit on a regular basis with each of the three credit bureaus, even if not impacted by potential fraud. If you discover any incorrect or fraudulent information on your credit report, you should dispute it with the credit bureau directly. Due to increased fraud during the COVID-19 pandemic, each of the three credit bureaus are offering free weekly credit reports via annualcreditreport.com.

You may wish to consider a Lifelock identity theft protection plan. Centura is developing a LifeLock payroll deduction program, and we will share details once they are available.

Submit requests for radiation dosimeters through Self Service Hub

Until now, the process for requesting a radiation dosimeter (radiation ‘badge’) has varied from site to site across our connected ecosystem.

The process often involved tracking down a specific individual in your site’s radiology department and sending paper forms back and forth.  Today, we are excited to announce that a new, more convenient process has been created.

Starting today, Feb. 16, the forms needed to request a radiation dosimeter or a fetal dosimeter (to be worn during pregnancy) can be found under the “Radiation Services” tab on the Self Service Hub page. All submitted forms will then be assigned to an associate who will complete the request and deliver the dosimeter to you once it arrives at your site.

In addition to an order form for a dosimeter for new associates or associates who have changed roles, there is also a form for ordering a fetal dosimeter which can be worn during pregnancy. This dosimeter is an option available to our pregnant associates. Unlike the radiation dosimeter request, which can be completed by a manager on behalf of a new associate, the fetal dosimeter request form must be filled out by the requesting associate.

More information, including which dosimeter is appropriate for you, is included on the respective form pages.

Centura Health at Home PSF achieves rare accolade

Each quarter, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provides star ratings on home health agencies across the nation. This rating system is designed to be an easy-to-access, official source of information about provider quality to help consumers make informed choices about a home health provider.

We are thrilled to share that Centura Health at Home Penrose-St. Francis Health Services has achieved a 5 star-rating – the highest accolade possible, as reported by CMS – for both Patient Satisfaction and Quality outcomes. The PSF Health at Home team has consistently outperformed the competition in quality standards, holding a 5-star Quality rating quarter over quarter, and rose to a 5-star rating in Patient Satisfaction with the most recent CMS data.

There is currently no other home health agency in Colorado that has a 5-star rating on both Quality and Patient Satisfaction. Less than 1 percent of agencies nationwide can claim this accolade!

“It is truly a team effort to achieve this kind of sustained excellence in multiple aspects of the care we provide,” said Cassandra Pratt, Director of Centura Health at Home, Penrose-St. Francis Health Services. “I am grateful for the incredible people at PSF who live their mission each day delivering the highest quality, compassionate home health care to our patients and their families.”

Please join us in congratulating the Centura Health at Home Penrose-St. Francis team on this remarkable achievement!

Across the enterprise, Centura Health at Home has maintained strong CMS ratings, with our Mercy and Bristlecone* agencies also receiving 5 star ratings in Patient Satisfaction and our Denver agency retaining 4 stars in Patient Satisfaction; and both Mercy and Denver achieving 4 stars for Quality. You can learn more about CMS Home Health star ratings, including the measures used to asses star ratings in both categories, by clicking here.

*Centura Health at Home Bristlecone received fewer than 70 surveys returned during the most recent quarterly rating cycle, so this score is not publicly reported.

MS Teams collaboration tool is coming soon!

Beginning in March, Centura Health Information Technology (IT) will introduce the Microsoft (MS) Teams platform across our connected ecosystem. MS Teams will centralize instant messaging, project and team collaboration and daily work management. In July 2021, Skype for Business instant messaging will no longer be supported.  By moving to MS Teams, IT is proactively providing a replacement for Skype for Business instant messaging, as well as a communication and collaboration platform that is fully integrated with SharePoint.

MS Teams is a robust collaboration platform where associates can chat/instant message with peers, create project sites, share documents, and collaborate on projects and initiatives. While MS Teams will replace Skype for Business instant messaging, Zoom will continue to remain Centura Health’s preferred meeting platform. Please note, until Skype for Business is discontinued in July 2021, this change will not affect your ability to instant message or attend Skype meetings hosted by individuals outside of our organization.

In 2020, IT began piloting MS Teams to gain an understanding of its capabilities in preparation of the enterprise launch. Starting in February 2021, advanced training is being offered for our early adopters – client desktop, service desk, executive assistants, business support and our clinical informatics teams. These early adopters are getting ready and can be a resource in the future for guidance and assistance across the areas they support.

To ensure all associates are prepared for the MS Teams enterprise-wide deployment, look for more information in the next few weeks regarding virtual training opportunities and the schedule when MS Teams will be deployed to your facility or department. In addition, the Learning Pathways link within MS Teams navigation contains multiple training resources to begin learning about MS Teams. MS Teams End User and Site Owner guides are also available.

Please note, if you work remotely and are not connected to the Centura network when MS Teams is deployed, the installation will begin once you are connected to the network (directly or through VPN).  MS Teams also has a mobile app which is available for both Apple and Android users.

We are excited to introduce this new collaboration tool with the aim to better support the important work you do. If you have any questions regarding this change, please call the Service Center at 303 643 4200.
