Safety measures after COVID-19 vaccinations

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, our caregivers have been the most trusted voice in the communities we serve. While this vaccine provides a shot of hope for ending this pandemic, we must continue to lead by example and practice healthy behaviors to ensure the health and safety of our communities until the vaccine is widely available.

Practice healthy behaviors
While initial studies indicate the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are approximately 95% effective at preventing recipients from getting sick with COVID-19, it is not yet clear whether those who have been vaccinated can still be asymptomatic spreaders of the virus. For this reason, everyone – including people who have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine – should continue to practice safe behaviors including wearing a mask, social distancing and washing your hands.

It is our responsibility to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our patients and colleagues, and this includes reducing risk to those who have not yet had the opportunity to receive their vaccine.

Report vaccine side effects
We must also learn from our own data to help educate and inform other populations about our experience with the COVID-19 vaccine. Caregivers should report any adverse reaction to our Occupational Health team at 303.673.7025, option 2. We also strongly encourage you to enroll in V-SAFE, a smartphone-based tool that uses text messaging and web surveys to provide personalized health check-ins after you receive a COVID-19 vaccination. More information about reporting symptoms can be found in the post-vaccination symptoms guidance.

Our focus has been and will continue to be your health and well-being, so that you can continue to care for our neighbors when they need you most.

New Physician Business Courtesies Tracking Tool

Centura has created a new Physician Business Courtesies Tracking Tool to improve ease of access, provide a better end user experience, improve data quality, and enhance analytics capabilities. This tracking tool replaced the previous tool on Jan. 1 to coincide with the new calendar year and regulatory tracking requirement.

Associates who provide non-employed physicians gifts and/or business courtesies (e.g., meal off campus, holiday gift, event tickets, etc.) can use this tool to log their activities and keep a running tally on the total value of gifts and business courtesies provided to each physician in a calendar year. We are required by regulation to not exceed a specific amount each year, and this tool enables us to track and monitor in order to comply.

The User Guide provides instructions on how to locate and access the new tracking tool. The FAQs help provide clarity on the regulatory requirements, as well provide more guidance on what types of gifts and business courtesies require tracking.
