Making a difference, $1 at a time

It is estimated that one in seven Coloradoans struggle with hunger. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has caused even more in our community to experience food insecurity and has increased the demand for charitable food assistance.

As part of our “Season of Thankscaring” the corporate offices are asking associates to consider making a donation now through Nov. 30 to the Food Bank of the Rockies.

At this time, Food Bank of the Rockies is encouraging individuals to make cash donations as they do not have the means or manpower to properly sanitize food donations to the standards necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

For every dollar Food Bank of the Rockies receives four meals can be distributed! Think how many people you could feed by forgoing your daily cup of joe and donating the money instead. No donation is too small! Even a quarter can provide a meal to someone in need.

No one should have to worry about where their next meal will come from. Please join us and give hungry families the opportunity to thrive.

Spread warmth this season

The corporate offices will again participate in Coats for Colorado as part of our “Season of Thankscaring”. As many of our incredible people are currently working from home, this year associates are asked to deliver their gently-used costs to any local Dependable Cleaners location through Nov. 30.

Donated coats will be distributed to area nonprofit organizations. Dependable Cleaners will clean the coats prior to distribution.

We are proud to continue to support this event that has helped Coloradoans since 1981. Since its start, Coats for Colorado has collected, cleaned, and distributed over 2 million coats in the Denver metro area.

Your kind donations help to provide warm winter coats at no cost to Coloradoans of all ages.

Tuition Reimbursement Deadline for calendar year 2020 is approaching!

The deadline to submit tuition reimbursement requests during the 2020 calendar year is December 1st. We realize that many associates attending classes during the Fall 2020 semester will not have their final grades by this date. Therefore, we will accept pending grades so you can take full advantage of the tuition reimbursement program for the calendar year. If your university uses a platform like Canvas or Blackboard, simply attach your current grade reports via a “Tuition Reimbursement Request” in the Self Service Hub. Alternatively, you can submit a letter from your professor containing your current grade and an attestation that you are expected to pass the course.

We ask that any tuition reimbursement requests for calendar year 2020 be submitted at your earliest convenience, as we expect the end of the year to be a very busy time for reimbursement requests. The “Tuition Reimbursement Request” can be found in the Self Service Hub. The Self Service Hub can be accessed by logging into My Virtual Workplace, selecting Work Tools, selecting Non-Clinical Tools, and selecting Self Service Hub. In order to ensure that you are reimbursed in a timely manner, please remember to attach your grades, tuition receipt showing payment for your course(s), and any book receipts you may have to your request.

Step-by-step instructions for submitting a tuition reimbursement request can be found here.

All tuition reimbursement requests, pre-approvals and inquiries must be submitted through the Self Service Hub. Below are links that provide direct access to the tuition reimbursement page in the Self Service Hub, the Quick Guides containing step-by-step instructions for both pre-approval requests and tuition reimbursement requests, and the tuition reimbursement policy.

A new collaboration tool coming soon!

Centura Health Information Technology (IT) will introduce the Microsoft Teams (MS Teams) platform across our connected ecosystem beginning in December. The platform will first be released at three pilot sites - Avista Adventist Hospital, Longmont United Hospital, and St. Anthony North Health Campus as well as with executive assistants at the enterprise - on Monday, Dec. 7. The following week, Monday, Dec. 14, the platform will be deployed across the Centura Health system.

IT has made the decision to replace Skype for Business instant messaging as Skype has made the decision to discontinue support of this platform on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Please note, this change will not affect your ability to attend Skype meetings hosted by individuals outside of our organization.

MS Teams is a robust collaboration platform where associates can create project sites, share documents, collaborate and communicate on projects and initiatives.

To ensure ease of use and access, after implementation MS Teams will auto-launch when associates log on to their computers. Associates will also be able to use MS Teams on the go with mobile capabilities available for both Apple and Android users.

While MS Teams will replace Skype for Business instant messaging, Zoom will continue to remain Centura Health’s preferred meeting platform.

In the coming weeks, look for more information about the virtual trainings available to you. In addition to virtual trainings, training resources will be built within MS Teams for independent learning and super users will be available to offer further support.

We are excited to introduce this new collaboration tool and to better support the important work you do.

This 12 week mentoring program is designed to connect newly hired associates and leaders (mentees) with colleagues (mentors) who will provide personalized guidance and enhance the new hire’s onboarding experience, ultimately laying a strong  foundation for success.

Newly hired associates and leaders are invited to participate in the program as mentees.  Associates who have been with Centura Health for at least six months, are in good standing, and are invested in welcoming and onboarding new associates are invited to participate in the program as mentors.  Sign up to mentor a newly hired associate or leader using this link:  Newly Hired Mentoring Program

Mentors and mentees will build a supportive, professional relationship over the course of three months to ensure mentees have all the information they need, develop a network, and feel a sense of belonging.  Key areas of focus for the newly hired mentoring program include Department Knowledge (tools and resources, key people, and core business functions) and Organizational Knowledge (2025 strategy and goals, system/ entity structure, and system/ entity culture).
