Upcoming initiatives
To remain current with industry updates, requirements and the needs of our incredible associates, Information Technology is preparing for several projects in the fall. Here is an overview of changes that will have a significant impact on operations and procedures; look for more information about each of them in upcoming communications.

Fuji Synapse PACS
Our radiology software will be upgraded beginning Saturday, October 3. Refer to the related brief on the front page of this Weekly Spark edition for more details regarding implementation and impact to users.

Fall Daylight Savings
On Sunday, November 1, Daylight Savings Time ends, and the clocks will be turned back one hour, resulting in a second 1 a.m. hour. This will impact activities that are dependent upon a timing sequence (e.g., patient transfers, hourly medications and flowsheet documentation).

Epic upgrade
On Sunday, November 8, Epic will be converted to the May 2020 version, adding new functionality to our caregivers following a period of downtime.

Patient access to provider notes
On Monday, November 2, all patients will have real-time, electronic access to more aspects of their medical record, including notes recorded by their physicians and clinical teams. The implementation will require training and communication plans to educate appropriate stakeholders.

CCC (Clinical Collaboration and Communication) program
CCC will replace existing Cisco-shared phones with iPhones across key inpatient care and procedural areas. The new phones will include two applications – PatientTouch and Epic Rover – which will create efficiencies in communication, collaboration and patient care across the treatment team. The first site to pilot this will be St. Anthony North Health Campus beginning Nov. 10, followed by Littleton Adventist Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center.

Clairvia upgrade
As we continue to improve our scheduling and timekeeping system, it is necessary to maintain the existing Clarvia scheduling system for our clinicians until we are able to roll out Advanced Scheduling in Workforce Dimensions (WFD). On November 16, Clarvia will be upgraded to stabilize the infrastructure and ensure we minimize any security risks. The upgrade will not change clinicians’ experience; it will simply provide additional stability and maintain a strong integration with WFD.
