Dear Agent, Two important changes to how we provide insurance are on the horizon:  New TWIA policy contracts: All new and renewal TWIA policies will include updated coverages, terms, and conditions. The new policy contracts go into effect January 1, 2020; samples are available on the TWIA website. New renewal process: As long as their property remains in insurable condition, policyholders will be able to renew their policy directly with TWIA. This new process impacts policies with an effective date on or after March 1, 2020. What TWIA is mailing policyholders To support policyholder awareness and understanding of these changes, we are mailing resources to them directly. Because the new TWIA policy contracts go into effect before the new renewal process, what the policyholder receives will depend on their policy renewal date. Items mailed to policyholders with a policy renewal date between January 1 and February 29, 2020:   Item When Mailed Purpose Notice of New TWIA Policy Contract January 2020 Week of November 25, 2019 This notice explains changes in the new policy contract. We encourage you to take a look. Items mailed to policyholders with a policy renewal date on or after March 1, 2020:   Item When Mailed Purpose Postcard Approximately 15 days before the Policy Renewal Packet is mailed Informs policyholders of the new policy contracts and of the new renewal process. It also lets them know they will soon receive a Policy Renewal Packet in the mail that they can use to renew their policy directly with TWIA. Policy Renewal Packet 60 days before the policy renewal date The Policy Renewal Packet includes:  A Renewal Offer Letter that outlines the renewal offer. A Payment Coupon that policyholders should include if they choose to mail in the policy renewal payment. A Packet Guide that explains what is included in the packet. A Notice of New TWIA Policy Contract January 2020 that explains changes in the new policy contract. A Renewal Offer Summary that outlines policy coverages.
