IHDC’s 2017 Holiday Breakfast and 25th Anniversary Celebration Community Investment staff attended the Interfaith Housing Development Corporation’s 2017 Holiday Breakfast and 25th Anniversary Celebration at the Chicago Cultural Center. This annual breakfast gathers donors, partners, and supporters to celebrate safe and affordable housing for the most vulnerable populations. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago was a sponsor of this event. Mayfair Commons Ribbon Cutting In December, Community Investment staff joined North River Commission at its ribbon-cutting ceremony for Mayfair Commons in Chicago, Illinois. The FHLBank Chicago made an $850,000 competitive Affordable Housing Program (AHP) award to this project through MB Financial Bank, N.A. Photo courtesy of North River Commission Shalom Center Tour Community Investment staff recently toured the Shalom Center, a 2017 competitive AHP project. Located in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the Shalom Center is an adaptive reuse of a single-story industrial space converted into 72 emergency shelter units. The FHLBank Chicago awarded a $664,000 competitive AHP grant to the project through First Business Bank; Shalom Center of Interfaith Network of Kenosha County, Inc. is the sponsor.
