TWIA is ready to activate CAT Plan if necessary for TD 9

TWIA is ready to take action in the event Tropical Depression Nine impacts Texas. We have been monitoring the storm over the last several days, and according to The National Hurricane Center, Tropical Depression Nine (formerly Invest 99L) has entered the Gulf of Mexico.

While the forecasts overwhelmingly predict that a Texas landfall is unlikely, since there are indicators that we could see an impact, we are proactively preparing to activate our Catastrophe (CAT) Plan, if necessary, and have identified and begun to stage claim processing resources. In addition, our field adjusting resources have been alerted and are able to begin ramping-up their efforts in parallel to ours, should that be required.

We wanted you to be aware of our preparations and to know that we will continue to monitor this storm. We will send more information if necessary in the form of an Agent Bulletin and if we do activate the CAT Plan, the term “CAT” will appear in the subject line. As always, our website is a great source of preparation information and our Agent Services team is available to field your questions M-F 8:00am to 5:00pm at 1-800-788-8247, Option 7.
