UPDATE: On April 18, 2018, the deadline for TWIA policyholders to request appraisal on their Harvey claim was extended. The new deadline is 180 days from the day a policyholder received their most recent Notice of Claim Acceptance (in full or in part) letter.

Note: Some commercial policies have a 150-day deadline. For more details, please refer to www.twia.org/extensionletter.

 Dear Agent,

Many policyholders with claims for Hurricane Harvey damage have received a claim notice from TWIA accepting their claim in full or in part. This notice outlines what we have estimated to be a reasonable and necessary cost to repair the covered damage to their property.

Some notices that went out still stated the 60-day appraisal deadline. That deadline has been extended to 120 days for Hurricane Harvey claims. Policyholders who received a notice stating the 60-day deadline will receive this letter in the coming week that alerts them of the 120-day appraisal deadline extension.

Should you have any questions or concerns, contact Agent Services at agentservices@twia.org or 800-788-8247.

Sincerely,

Texas Windstorm Insurance Association
