The Milwaukee Awards for Neighborhood Development Innovation (MANDIs)

FHLBank Chicago staff (pictured below with Leo Ries of the FHLBank Chicago Board of Directors and Irma Yepez Klassen of the Community Investment Advisory Council, standing third and second from the right) attended LISC Milwaukee’s MANDIs in April. This annual event celebrates outstanding neighborhood and community revitalization efforts. The FHLBank Chicago was an event sponsor.



CDFI Day at the Capitol

On April 16, FHLBank Chicago staff participated in CDFI Day at the Wisconsin State Capitol. This event recognized the work of Wisconsin community development financial institutions (CDFIs) in supporting businesses, job growth, housing development, and more. Roger Lundstrom, the FHLBank Chicago’s Chief Financial Officer (pictured below with Fern Orie of the Wisconsin Native Loan Fund), accepted the Distinguished Partnership award on behalf of the Bank.



Competitive Affordable Housing Program (AHP) Listening Tour

The FHLBank Chicago’s Core Team drives efforts toward operational excellence across the Bank. Throughout April and early May, Community Investment staff (pictured below with staff from Dimension Development)  joined the Core Team for a series of discussions with members, sponsors, and consultants on ways to strengthen the competitive AHP. Thanks to all who shared their experiences and ideas!



IACAA’s Annual Learning Conference

The Illinois Association of Community Action Agencies’ 2019 Annual Learning Conference was held May 5-7 in Springfield, Illinois. Tim Klont, Vice President and Manager, Community Investment, presented a breakout session on leveraging AHP subsidy with weatherization dollars. The FHLBank Chicago exhibited and was a conference sponsor.



25th Annual Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards (CNDAs)

On May 9, FHLBank Chicago staff attended LISC Chicago’s 25th annual CNDAs. These awards recognize outstanding achievement in neighborhood real estate development and community building in the Chicago metropolitan area. The FHLBank Chicago was an event sponsor.
