TWIA Legislative Update
Greetings:

The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association and Texas FAIR Plan continue to receive claims from Hurricane Beryl.  As of this morning, we have received more than 26,000 TWIA claims and more than 7,700 FAIR Plan claims.

Policyholder Webinars
TWIA held a webinar for policyholders affected by Hurricane Beryl and their insurance agents, How a TWIA Claim Works, on July 19.  A video recording of the webinar, the presentation materials, and FAQs can be found on the Recovery page at TWIA.org, along with more information for policyholders on how to recover after a storm.

We will hold a second policyholder webinar, How a TWIA Claim Works (Part 2), on Monday, August 5 at 6:00 p.m. The webinar will cover the TWIA claims process and details on possible claims decisions.

This includes:
  • Deductible questions and information
  • How to use your estimate as a tool and tips on how to best avoid delays in your claim
  • Dispute process and deadlines for disagreements with claim decisions
How to attend: Live on the Zoom meeting or watch the livestream on YouTube.

Reporting Claims
TWIA and FAIR Plan policyholders can report claims online, by phone, or by text.
Claims Data
To date, TWIA has made payment on nearly 8,000 claims for a total of more than $95.8 million. FAIR Plan has made payment on more than 2,000 claims for a total of more than $25 million.
