In response to severe storms impacting Brazoria and Galveston counties and nearby areas over the weekend, the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) has activated our Catastrophe Incident Response (CAT) Plan. Activating the CAT Plan allows TWIA to begin scaling up claim resources, so we can quickly respond to policyholders with losses from the storm.
As of late Tuesday morning, we have received more than 600 claims – mostly from TWIA policyholders but also from Texas FAIR Plan Association (TFPA) policyholders in the region.
To help ensure your impacted constituents can recover as quickly as possible, please share with them the information below.
Information for Impacted TWIA Policyholders
Report a claim one of three ways:
- Using TWIA’s online Policyholder Portal available at www.twia.org/claims
- Calling our 24-hour Claims Care Team at (800) 788-8247, option 1
- Let your insurance agent know you have property damage
Have your TWIA policy number, best contact information, and property damage details ready. Please note that TWIA cannot accept claims that are reported through email or fax.

Information for Impacted TFPA Policyholders
Report a claim one of three ways:
- Visit TFPA’s online Claims Center at www.texasfairplan.org/claimscenter
- Calling our 24-hour Claims Care Team at
(800) 979-6440, option 1
- Let your insurance agent know you have property damage
Have your TFPA policy number, best contact information, and property damage details ready. Please note that TFPA cannot accept claims that are reported through email or fax.
