FAIR Plan Policy Moratorium
Greetings:

As of noon today, February 29, 2024, a FAIR Plan policy moratorium is in effect for nine counties in the Texas Panhandle region due to the threat of active wildfires in the region.

This means Texas FAIR Plan Association (TFPA) is currently not accepting applications for new or increased coverage for properties in these counties: Oldham, Moore, Potter, Hutchinson, Carson, Roberts, Gray, Hemphill, and Wheeler. TFPA currently has a small number of policies in these counties and we will be ready to respond to claims for any properties affected by covered fire events.

The policy moratorium may extend to additional counties if needed and will continue until the Association determines the fires no longer threaten properties in the area. As the situation evolves, we will provide updates on any changes to this policy moratorium. Additionally, you can find information about TFPA’s response to the fire on our website

If your constituents have questions or concerns, they may contact our Policy Services team at agentservices@twia.org or (800) 979-6440, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They may also wish to contact their insurance agent.

As a reminder, this message and all TWIA Legislative Updates are archived at www.TWIA.org/legislative.

Should you have any questions, please contact me at DDurden@twia.org or (512) 505-2255.

Sincerely,

David Durden
