Greetings:
In response to yesterday’s severe storms impacting the upper Texas Coast, the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association has activated our Catastrophe Incident Response (CAT) Plan. Activating the CAT Plan allows TWIA to begin scaling up claim resources, so we can quickly respond to policyholders with losses from the storm.
As of this morning, we have received more than 100 claims, about equally divided between TWIA and Texas FAIR Plan Association (TFPA). Most claims reported have come from areas directly in the storm’s path, which spans from the southwest corner of Pearland, up to the Beltway, through southern Pasadena, and then through Deer Park and the Houston Ship Channel to Baytown. We are also starting to see some claims from Jefferson County.
To help ensure your impacted constituents can recover as quickly as possible, please share with them the information below.
