| | | | SAFETY SPOTLIGHT: | | | James Garza, over 20 years of service in safety
Sometimes known as “Big Game James Garza,” not for his experience with African safaris, but because, when the stakes were high and failure was not an option, it was a job for James. While he may joke that he could tell you all about the safety issues with the Houston Police Department, but then he’d have to kill you, James Garza is NOT an HPD employee. He is the safety advisor to the largest department in the city — and he’s a pretty nice guy as well.

| | Store your medicine properly Many families depend on medicines and vitamins to feel well and stay in good health. But medicine, including those you purchase without a prescription, can be harmful if taken in the wrong way or by the wrong person. Thousands of young children end up in emergency rooms each year because they got into medicines while an adult wasn’t looking. These emergency visits can be prevented by always putting every medicine up and away and out of children’s reach and sight every time you use it. Practicing safe medicine storage, while at home and when on-the-go, can help keep children and elderly safe. | | |
