Dear Agent,

In response to Hurricane Ida, a TWIA policy moratorium is in effect and we have activated our Catastrophe Incident Response (CAT) Plan.

Policy Moratorium in Effect
A TWIA policy moratorium went into effect at 1:30 p.m. on August 27, 2021. We can no longer issue policies for new or increased coverage.

Once the TWIA General Manager determines the storm no longer threatens property anywhere within the TWIA coverage area, we will lift the moratorium at 12:01 a.m. the next day (learn more).

We will notify you through an agent bulletin when the moratorium is lifted.

CAT Plan Activated
We are preparing for Hurricane Ida’s landfall and have activated our CAT Plan. This will help us respond to you and your clients as quickly and effectively as possible if this storm causes severe damage in our coverage area.

Report a Claim, If Needed
TWIA policyholders with wind or hail damage can report claims using our online Claims Center (login and register at www.twia.org/claimscenter). Agents can report claims for their clients using the TWIA Agent Portal. Agents and policyholders can also call (800) 788-8247, option 1.

Stay Up to Date
In addition to reading our agent bulletins, you may visit our website or follow us on Facebook for updates about this storm and our response to it. If you live in our coverage area and have a Nextdoor account, you can also connect with us there.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Agent Services at agentservices@twia.org or (800) 788-8247.

Sincerely,
Texas Windstorm Insurance Association
