UCI Physicians on List of Top Scientists |
| More than 140 faculty the UCI School of Medicine have been identified among the top two percent of scientists in the world in an update to a Stanford University-led study. Baram, Ralph Clayman, Zeev Kain, Ruth Benca, Kenneth Chang, Dan Cooper, Mark Fisher, Baruch Kuppermann and many more.
The new update builds on an original study done in 2019, when a team of Stanford University researchers compiled an exhaustive list containing more than one million scientists from around the world. The updated study identifies the top two percent of scientists, out of the more than seven million in the world.

New Cytogenetics and Genomics Laboratory |
| The new UCI Health Cytogenetics and Genomics Laboratory became the region’s first such hospital-based lab to begin clinical testing on April 8. The laboratory is expected to perform more than 2,000 cytogenetic assays annually for the UCI Health patient population. The latest technology and methods for preparation, analysis and reporting is being used for the processing of bone marrow and leukemic blood. Initially, G-banded chromosome analysis is being offered for a wide range of clinical hematological cancer for diagnosis and management.
The laboratory is directed by Dr. Fabiola Quintero-Rivera, clinical professor in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and an American Board on Medical Genetics and Genomics-certified Cytogeneticists. It is staffed by three California-licensed Clinical Cytogenetics Scientists with more than 15 years of experience.
The team invites you to a virtual open house at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow: Join Zoom Meeting – https://ucihealth.zoom.us/j/97346625532?pwd=UG9MU3FEQk1aYXQxTWhXNk9Cd210QT09 Meeting ID: 973 4662 5532 Passcode: 297341 One tap mobile +16699009128,,97346625532#,,,,*297341# US (San Jose) +12532158782,,97346625532#,,,,*297341# US (Tacoma)
