The UCI Health Blood Donor Center in Orange is now offering free COVID-19 antibody testing for people who donate blood or platelets. This test is only available by appointment at the donor center in Orange. It cannot diagnose a current COVID-19 infection but may indicate whether you have been exposed to the coronavirus.
The test screens for antibodies, protective proteins in your blood produced by the immune system to fight an infection, such as COVID-19. An antibody test only assesses whether your immune system has responded to the coronavirus, not if it is currently present. If you feel unwell for any reason, please postpone your donation. Donors who believe they may be ill with COVID-19 should wait until they are symptom free for 14 days and feeling healthy. View our donor requirements ›
