Dear Colleagues,

There is robust support for the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and the 2020 Anti-Cancer Challenge across the Susan and Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences and UCI Health. Our faculty, staff and students are signing up in large numbers to defeat cancer as participants in the annual events. Today, I invite you to join us. No one is alone in the fight against cancer. And, together with people across UCI and Orange County, we are working as partners to raise funds to better understand and prevent cancer.

At UCI, we are home to more than 200 of the nation's best cancer researchers -- dedicated individuals who will stop at nothing to develop therapies for all forms of the disease. Thanks to the dedication of the team at the Chao Cancer Center, our patients have access to clinical research trials that are often years ahead of being available widely.

The Anti-Cancer Challenge will be different this year. Participants are connecting virtually over eight weeks of fitness challenges, health webinars and virtual wellness activities. On Challenge Day, Saturday, Oct. 3, we will unite online for an opening ceremony. This will be followed by virtual events throughout the day, including the announcement of individual and team awards.

The 2020 Anti-Cancer Challenge offers a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and focus on our own health, all the while working to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients.

Register your team, enter as an individual, or join an existing team at anti-cancerchallenge.org.

Everyone knows someone whose life has been impacted by cancer. Please join us in making UCI the place where the end of cancer begins.

I look forward to seeing you on Challenge Day!
