Dear School of Medicine Chairs, Research Faculty and CAOs,
By now you have all received guidelines for researchers returning to the Irvine campus and the recommendation that employees complete a UCI Working Well™ Daily Symptom Check assessment each day they are in their office or lab. The School of Medicine is taking these recommendations a step further.
To assure that our research employees who are returning to work on-site are self-monitoring, using the UCI Working Well™ Daily Symptom Check, we are requiring each lab to verify compliance and follow the three-part process outlined below:
- By Wednesday, June 17th, please designate one person who will be responsible for verifying that employees who are working on-site complete their daily assessment and send that person’s name to Emily Dawidoff (edawidof@hs.uci.edu).
- Create a daily log of individuals who are working on-site during Phase 2 ramp-up. An Excel spreadsheet format is recommended.
- Require employees to forward their Working Well™ confirmation emails, or a screenshot of the confirmation, to the designated person in the lab each day so compliance can be documented.
We will periodically monitor this process to be sure it is handled correctly and completely, as part of our ongoing effort to keep all employees safe when entering the workplace.
Thank you for your efforts to keep our research spaces safe.
Sincerely,
Suzanne Sandmeyer, PhD
Vice Dean, Research
