Update: HUD Mortgagee Letters and Down Payment Assistance
|July 31, 2019
This Community Investment Advisory is an updated communication to the Advisory we issued on July 22, 2019.
On July 23, 2019, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued Mortgagee Letter 2019-10, further suspending the effective date of Mortgagee Letter 2019-06. This action was in response to a preliminary injunction granted by the United States District Court for the District of Utah. The suspension will continue until there has been a final determination on the merits of the underlying lawsuit. We will issue further guidance as more information becomes available.
Members participating in the FHLBank Chicago’s Downpayment Plus® Program (DPP®) should continue using the updated letter posted on DPP Online until further notice. The contents of this letter comply with current HUD requirements for down payment assistance provided by governmental entities used in conjunction with Federal Housing Administration (FHA) insured mortgage loans.
Please contact Community Investment at 312-565-5824, option 1, or email@example.com with any questions.
