CAIDM Launches New Introduction to Medical Artificial Intelligence Lecture Series
The Center for Artificial Intelligence in Diagnostic Medicine (CAIDM) is excited to announce an eight-part lecture series led by Peter D. Chang, MD, focused on applying deep learning to healthcare problems.

Join us as we dive into topics like the History of AI, Intuitive Understanding of Neural Networks, Modern Deep Learning Architectures, and more, all aimed at providing the technical foundation and requisites needed to design and implement neural networks for various imaging and non-imaging medical applications.

Wednesdays and Fridays
July 17- Aug. 9, 2019
3 to 5 p.m.

Calit2 Auditorium
4100 E Peltason Dr, Irvine, CA 92697

Each session will be divided into two parts separated by a 10 minute break:
  • (1) 40-minute didactic topic overview
  • (2) 70-minute guided hands-on coding lab using Jupyter notebooks to reinforce key concepts. Please bring your personal laptop computer as the second part of the session will be the hands-on coding workshop.
The lecture series is designed for all students, including undergraduate, master’s and PhD, medical trainees and other University affiliates interested in building deep learning algorithms. A background in basic Python programming is recommended, however not required.
