Winter Safety

Houston’s climate may not bring extreme cold conditions like other parts of the country, but our employees can still be affected by winter weather. Workers face increased risks when they are unprepared for drastic drops in the temperature, especially if they are new on the job, take certain medications, are in poor physical condition or suffer from illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension or cardiovascular disease. Icy or wet road conditions, carbon monoxide poisoning and space heaters pose significant risks during the colder months. This month’s newsletter will explore various topics related to winter safety.
