| 2018 Downpayment Plus® Programs Open March 12 | | The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago’s Downpayment Plus (DPP®) and Downpayment Plus Advantage® (DPP Advantage®) programs will open March 12, 2018. Participating FHLBank Chicago members may reserve up to $420,000 in the general pool on a first-come, first-served basis to help their income-eligible borrowers with down payment and closing costs. | Register for a 2018 AHP Application Workshop | Join FHLBank Chicago staff at a complimentary workshop to learn more about the 2018 competitive Affordable Housing Program (AHP). Topics covered will include eligibility, project feasibility, and the 2018 scoring guidelines. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Potential AHP project sponsors, FHLBank Chicago member institutions, and development consultants are encouraged to attend. Last year there was a strong correlation between these learning opportunities and award success: In the 2017 competitive round, 100% of awarded projects had a member of the development team (i.e., member, sponsor, or consultant) register for a webinar or land-based workshop. | Sneak Peek: The Villas at Vinegar Hill Video | FHLBank Chicago staff recently visited Springfield, Illinois, to make a video highlighting the Villas at Vinegar Hill, a 92-unit rental project that replaced two 14-story public housing towers.
