Dear Agent,

TWIA is weeks away from our planned launch of Policy Center for commercial and manufactured home policies. During the past few months, we have provided updates about Policy Center and our plans for training and supporting agents prior to and after the system is launched.

As with any change that affects your job roles and responsibilities, you probably have questions. Below, we provide answers to some of the most important ones, starting with…

#1 When does Policy Center for commercial and manufactured home policies launch?

The planned launch date is February 12, 2018. However, a big part of upgrading TWIA’s systems and policy processes involves working closely with the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) to obtain the necessary approvals for changes. We are currently in frequent communication with TDI to ensure Policy Center for commercial and manufactured home policies meets their requirements and can be released to agents as planned in February. We will continue to keep you up-to-date about Policy Center’s expected launch date and notify you about training opportunities as they become available.

#2 How will I access Policy Center for commercial and manufactured home policies?

Accessing Policy Center is easy! If you are already using Policy Center for residential policies, you will simply go to the same website to log-in to the system. You will not need to register or provide new information to begin using the system. If you are not familiar with Policy Center, you can click here to learn about accessing and logging into Policy Center for the first time.

#3 What are the system requirements for Policy Center for commercial and manufactured home policies?

The system requirements for Policy Center will remain the same after commercial and manufactured home policies are integrated into the system. Since Policy Center only supports certain computer systems, it is important to make sure yours align with Policy Center’s requirements to successfully access the system. You can learn more about the system requirements for Policy Center here.

#4 How do I effect coverage with Policy Center for commercial and manufactured home policies?

As with Policy Center for residential policies, binders for commercial and manufactured home policies will no longer be supported once they are integrated into the system. Policy applications submitted for properties must meet the minimum eligibility criteria to be issued. The minimum eligibility criteria for all policy types may be accessed here or found under the Guidelines section on the Agents Training & Resources page.

#5 What are the payment options for commercial and manufactured home policies in Policy Center?

Policy Center will allow for additional payment options for commercial and manufactured home policies. The following payment options will be available post-launch (certain restrictions apply):

  • Check or money order
  • Wellington Finance Agreement
  • eCheck – New
  • Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) – New
