Agents with Depopulation offers,
Monday, May 31, is the last day to approve offers for the 2021-2022 TWIA Assumption Reinsurance Depopulation Program. On June 1, the TWIA Depopulation Website will no longer allow agents to approve offers or change selections. Even if you have already approved offers, please review your selections. Remember that if you do not want to participate, no action is required.
Verify Your Selections
- SELECTION VIA WEBSITE: You received a system-generated email with your login credentials for the TWIA Depopulation website on April 1. Please log in to the TWIA depopulation website to review offers. All selections are automatically saved. This process is shown in the job aid.
- If you would like to verify that you have successfully selected and approved offers, you can log out of the system. Then, log back in to see if there are selected carriers for each policy as you intended.
- As a reminder, you must enter into contracts with carriers before approving offers from those carriers.
For offers where you do not make a selection, those policyholders will remain with TWIA. In late November, agents will receive further instructions about offers that have been selected for transfer to a new carrier. Beginning December 3, the TWIA Depopulation Website will allow your agency to update the status of these policies, if the policyholders wish to remain with TWIA.
Notice of New Law & Program Improvements
As a reminder, the Texas Legislature passed a law in 2019 to change the depopulation programs and improve agent and policyholder experience by eliminating any decisions during storm season. These changes take effect this program year.
