Dear Agent,
Last week, we informed you Weston Property & Casualty Insurance Company had been put into receivership for liquidation. Policies currently insured by Weston, including those in Texas, will be canceled effective September 7.
While Weston provided windstorm insurance for a number of property owners in Texas coastal counties, TWIA does not currently have any data on Weston policies located in TWIA's coverage area. Additionally, Weston’s insolvency does not impact any TWIA policies.
TWIA has received many questions in response to the news of Weston’s insolvency. For easier reference, we have compiled answers to those questions on TWIA’s website.
