NIAMS Clinical Trial Planning Grant (R34) - Clinical Trial Not Allowed | This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) will support planning grants for investigator-initiated clinical interventional trials. The R34 planning grant is designed to enable the necessary planning, design, and preparation of documentation prior to implementation of investigator-initiated clinical trials. Completion of the agreed upon milestones of an R34 planning grant or documentation that planning has been addressed is required prior to submission of an application through a NIAMS U01 clinical trial implementation application that will support the actual implementation and conduct of the study. The planning should facilitate the launching of a trial that is hypothesis-driven, milestone-defined, and has the potential for high impact within the research mission of the NIAMS.
