TWIA Legislative Update
Greetings:

2024 Biennial Report
In accordance with Texas Insurance Code Section 2210.0025, the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association has submitted, on behalf of the Board of Directors, the 2024 Biennial Report to the Texas Legislature. The Biennial Report contains information regarding the operations of the Association and the Board’s legislative recommendations for the 89th Texas Legislature.

The 2024 Biennial Report may also be found on the Financial and Reports page of TWIA’s website.

Rate Filing
As approved by the TWIA Board of Directors at its August 6 meeting, Association staff submitted TWIA’s annual rate filing for an increase of 10% for 2025 residential and commercial rates to the Texas Department of Insurance this week. The filings have been posted to TDI’s website.

The rate filings may be approved or disapproved by the Insurance Commissioner not later than October 15.

Hurricane Beryl Update
TWIA and FAIR Plan continue to receive claims from Hurricane Beryl at a slowing rate.  As of this week, we have received more than 28,000 TWIA claims and more than 8,500 FAIR Plan claims.

To date, we have paid $175 million in TWIA claims and $50 million in FAIR Plan claims.

Additional resources for policyholders are available on the Association websites: TWIA.org and TexasFAIRPlan.org
