Day Surgery Entrance to Temporarily Close Effective Tuesday, April 1
Due to chiller repair work at Pardee hospital, it will be necessary to close the Day Surgery entrance effective Tuesday, April 1. The duration of this work is unknown at this time.

During this process, the Day Surgery entrance will be closed to patients, visitors, and teammates. Day Surgery patients, their caregivers, and family members will be redirected to the main entrance at 800 N. Justice Street.

Pardee teammates are encouraged to use alternate entrances and exits when accessing the hospital.

Coming Soon: New Teammate Wellness Portal

Beginning this year, we are transitioning to a new wellness portal through Wellworks for You, replacing the MyPathwayToHealth platform previously used for our Wellness insurance discount program.

Wellworks for You will serve as the new hub for teammates to submit and attest to their preventive care visits while also providing access to a variety of wellness-focused tools. The new portal will offer a similar user experience to MyPathwayToHealth, with some enhanced features to better support your wellness journey.

Stay tuned for more details on how to access and navigate the new platform!

ACTION REQUIRED: Annual Fit Testing Requirement

Pardee @Work is conducting annual N95 mask fit testing and PAPR review for hospital-based teammates and employed physicians/APPS.

  • If your birthday is in April, it’s time to schedule your fit testing/PAPR review!

Fit testing is conducted annually during your birthday month.

This fit testing is mandatory for teammates who must wear an N95 face mask and/or work in specific clinical and patient-facing departments (or whose job functions take them into these areas regularly).

Carolina Care
Moment of Caring

Our partnership with UNC Health allows us to deliver specialized neurologic care while reducing travel for patients. Dr. Suzette Laroche, MD, UNC School of Medicine, works in partnership with our neurology team to support care.

With Dr. Laroche’s expertise and support from Kim Frost and Kayla Zannoli, MA, we recently helped a patient with refractory epilepsy receive a surgical implant while minimizing trips to UNC.

"I think the clinic worked really well. We got two patients interested in starting the phase I process, and we were able to remotely program the RNS, which saved the patient at least five hours of driving for that day."

We use this same approach for Parkinson’s disease, offering screenings and local follow-up care.
