We are pleased to announce that Jaih Craddock, PhD will be joining the UCI School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine as Assistant Professor, effective September 1, 2022.
In her new role, Professor Craddock will be responsible for research, teaching, mentoring, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to promote health equity.

She will also contribute to the UCI Center for Environmental Health Disparities, the Black Thriving Initiative and the Leadership Education to Advance Diversity-African, Black and Caribbean (LEAD-ABC) School of Medicine curriculum track.
Through the UCI Center for Environmental Health Disparities, Professor Craddock will foster interdisciplinary collaborations within the UCI campus, College of Health Sciences, Program in Public Health, School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine and beyond.
In addition to her role as an active contributor to the UCI Black Thriving Initiative, she will collaborate with additional faculty recruited through the cluster hire and will mentor medical students, residents, fellows and junior faculty to join her research, teaching and outreach efforts.
Professor Craddock comes to us from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, School of Social Work, where she conducted research examining associations of social network dynamics, race and racism, mental health, and sexual health-related behaviors, decision-making, communication, knowledge acquisition, as well as service and technology use among members of Black communities.
Professor Craddock holds a Master’s in Sexuality Studies from San Francisco State University, and a Master of Social Work and a PhD in Social Work from the University of Southern California.
