Dear Agent,
We have activated our Catastrophe Incident Response (CAT) Plan in response to Tropical Storm Nicholas. This will help us respond to you and your clients as quickly and effectively as possible if this storm causes severe damage in our coverage area.
TWIA is still writing coverage. However, it is possible that a policy moratorium will go into effect in the near future. During a moratorium, TWIA is unable to issue any new policies or increase coverage on existing policies/renewals (learn more).
As a reminder, TWIA must receive both the application and the payment before we can issue a policy. To ensure TWIA receives payment before a moratorium goes into effect, the best ways to submit it are through eCheck or EFT.
We will notify you through an agent bulletin if a moratorium goes into effect. You may also visit our website or follow us on Facebook to stay up to date on this storm and TWIA’s response to it. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Agent Services at agentservices@twia.org or (800) 788-8247.
Sincerely,
Texas Windstorm Insurance Association |
