| | Dr. Lisa Gaddis Retires from USRA | Dr. Lisa Gaddis (pictured left in photo with Jeff Isaacson) recently retired from USRA, having achieved several remarkable milestones as Director of the Lunar and Plantetary Institute. USRA will ensure a smooth transition of LPI leadership through the appointment of Dr. Walter Kiefer as the Interim Director of the LPI. | | "Lunar" and "Planetary" Institute Written in the Sky | USRA’s Dr. David Kring recently captured a photo of the Moon and Venus visible above the Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) building in Houston, Texas. It’s a reminder of the work from USRA that is often all around us, with the Moon representing lunar research along with Venus representing planetary research. It’s a timely moment to capture as the LPI prepares to host it’s 55th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference.

Authored by USRA Principal Scientist Dr. David Kring at the LPI, this extensive 570-page volume is designed to equip astronauts and their supporting teams on Earth with the essential knowledge and skills needed to navigate and work effectively in the challenging lunar south pole environment.
