A Message from Owen Development & Alumni Engagement

Vanderbilt Business Community,

We are excited to share an update with you on our alumni engagement activities and how you can support our efforts! Recently, 200+ Owen alumni participated in reunion events at Management Hall and across Nashville from November 2-5. A highlight was the 2023 Distinguished Alumni Reception, where we honored Prashant Khemka (MBA’98), who is an incredible supporter and advocate for Owen. Overall, the weekend was a great success! See for yourself via the pictures in our public album.

In addition, fundraising for Owen is a top priority as we “Dare to Grow” together and raise vital funds to support Owen’s students, faculty, and staff. So, our development team has also been meeting with Owen alums on the road to share how they can engage with Owen through their “Time, Talent, & Treasure.” Click the button below for a one-pager that we share when alumni ask, “How can we help?” We hope the document is helpful for you, too!

Lastly, the Owen Alumni Board and Board of Visitors met in a joint meeting at Management Hall on Friday, November 3. Twenty-five alums and business leaders attended to hear from Dean Steenburgh and to provide feedback and guidance on how they will work together moving forward. The next meeting will be held on Friday, April 19.

Our team looks forward to seeing you at the Owen Alumni/Student Closing Bell on Thursday, February 22. Save the date!

We are grateful to each of you and all you do for the Owen alumni community!

Best,
Anne Rawlins

Survey: Housing Guide for Incoming Students
We are launching a short, anonymous survey to obtain information about current students’ housing experiences to help incoming students with their transition to Nashville. Securing housing is often one of the biggest stressors in the transition process for new students. Providing your feedback will help us create a helpful housing guide for incoming students to make confident housing decisions.

Please take 5 minutes to share your insights. The housing guide is being put together with the help of VeryApt, a startup in the real estate technology industry. The survey will not ask for name or contact information, and participation is optional. The deadline to complete the survey is Tuesday, November 28.
