A Message from the Career Management Center (CMC)

Greetings!

The Career Management Center (CMC) is here to support each of you as you advance in your career.

For students in our specialized master’s programs, this may involve helping you explore options and prepare for your first professional role. For an MBA student or an alum, this could mean working to achieve a career transition. Since you each bring your own experiences, skills, and career aspirations, you will each have a unique journey. We aim to be with you through this personal journey, providing education, resources, connections, and coaching.

Hopefully, you’ve already engaged with the CMC in some way.

We met and began working with many of you this summer as you prepared to join Owen. Mod 1 was very busy with 118 company presentations and coffee chats. In addition, many of you attended national career fairs, networking receptions, and career treks to Atlanta and New York during immersion week.

Mod 2 is going to be just as busy with career events. Make sure you’re logging in regularly to the career platform in 12Twenty, to keep up with events and job opportunities.

We understand that this journey can be stressful and frustrating as you navigate career exploration and recruiting processes.  But most often, there is a very happy and successful outcome at the end of the journey, and we are always thrilled to see you achieve your goals.

Best,
Emily Anderson

Congratulations on completing Mod 1!

During the Owen Essentials session in the first week of Mod 1, the specialized masters programs came together to brainstorm examples of how you could live out the 6 Owen Essentials principles (trust, accountability, transparency, collaborative community, inclusiveness, and innovation & learning) on a day-to-day basis. Throughout the year, you will see these examples highlighted in this section of What’s Happening:

Accountability: Do your part in group work.

Sign up to be a Closing Bell Staff Ambassador
We are still in need of Staff Ambassadors for the remainder of the year - and most importantly, Mod 2! If you are able to sign up, please use the link below and select a week that works for your schedule.

The primary role of Closing Bell Staff Ambassadors is to be a staff presence and be available in case our student leaders need any help with the night. This usually looks like helping to set up and break down tables, assisting with the food line, helping with any clean up, and being available if they need any staff assistance.

If you have any questions about serving as a Staff Ambassador, please contact Kenzie Karpinski.
