Ia ora na Partners!
We had quite a busy year in 2008 with our joint public relations initiatives! For this special edition of our partner update, we have selected the media highlights of 2008. We have also included the current media exposure dedicated to the islands of Tahiti in North America.
This incredible exposure was due to the relationships that have been established between our public relations partners, the editors, producers and freelance writers; as well as our industry partners throughout the islands.
These amazing features could not have been possible without the exceptional assistance of GIE Tahiti Tourisme, and each of us working closely together.

Islands Magazine- January /February 2009- “Elements of Home”
The January-February edition of Islands Magazine finally hits the stands.
The 13-page article, offering stunning shots of the islands, is about the author’s journey within the islands, with a view of understanding what makes one feel at home. Edward R. Henderson, who has been living in Tahiti for more than a year, has come to realize that he in fact has never felt home anywhere, as a result of his moving from place to place so often in his life.
Throughout the article, the author uses ancient Polynesian navigators as a reference to determine the true elements that define home.
“The ancients had no time; Not that they were not busy- no cell phones, no soccer practices to take the kids to- Rather they lived outside time, a concept they simply didn’t need, and so there was time for everything-the sky, the sea, finding the world. Navigators never looked away.”
According to the author, noticing the surroundings including the scents and the colors of the landscape makes you understand exactly where you are. In essence, becoming aware of your surrounding gives you a point of reference, which helps you realize what you really miss when you look away- home.
