“South Seas Rendezvous” Andy Turpin August 2007
“When is every regatta participant a winner? When the regatta takes place in the Isles of Tahiti!” And this is simply because of the sheer beauty of the destination. The article focuses on the Tahiti Pearl Regatta, which showcases Tahiti’s superb sailing conditions and rich cultural heritage, as well as its spectacular topography.
The writer follows the race with the first-ever S.F. team, and one of the crewmembers describes "sailing from Taha'a to Bora Bora as a Top Ten experience. The waves crashing on the reefs, the steep, rugged islands rising out of the ocean with lush palm forests – and sailing among 26 boats with spinnakers flying on a warm Tahiti day ... “The Art of Awakening” Mary Heebner Photos by Macduff Everton (same issue – Aranui 3 mention, “The Best Island Cruises”) September / October 2007
The much anticipated 12-page feature on the islands of Tahiti is in the September / October issue of Islands Magazine. Writer Mary Heebner and photographer Macduff Everton traveled down earlier in 2007 on assignment for Islands’ annual feature on Tahiti. After covering several of the outer islands over the past few years, the editors chose to cover something a little more accessible for readers, and an island that hadn’t been featured in Islands in several years, Tahiti’s sister island, the magical island of Moorea. Although most of the article was focused on Moorea – the islands of Tahiti and Bora Bora were also included.
While the writer / photographer team was in Moorea – they experienced a tropical depression. As we all know, it rains in paradise, which is how it remains so verdantly green year-round. As it turned out – Everton was able to capture some amazing images of the island and the resorts being featured in the article. Simultaneously, Heebner, the writer who is also an artist, created several beautiful watercolors of the images shot by the photographer, all of which are included in the article.
The final piece highlighting the images, watercolors, and writing takes readers away to these islands. Offering inside information on where to eat, where to stay, and of course, where to get a tattoo.
Islands Magazine Circulation: 213,241 Readership: 703,695 Full Page Ad Cost: $222,300 USD

“Polynesian Touch” Adam Skolnick October 2007
In the current issue of Spa Magazine, writer Adam Skolnick uncovers the potent, old-world healing methods of Tahiti, New Zealand and Hawaii – however, Tahiti dominated all of the images throughout the article. The opening image is of the Hawaiki Nui Hotel on Raiatea - a beautiful shot of their overwater bungalows with a green velvet background. The article begins in New Zealand, then takes readers to Tahiti, which the author notes as the birthplace of Polynesia, and then on to the islands of Hawaii. The article focuses on traditional healing methods in these three destinations. Skolnick was lucky enough to have several interviews with different traditional Tahitian healers while in the islands.
