Ia ora na Partners!

We're very pleased to bring you a special update this week highlighting a wonderful opportunity in which our destination received national television coverage across the United States! The CBS Early Show's "All Access Tahiti" segment aired this past Wednesday, March 7, following an extremely busy weekend of filming in the islands of Tahiti.

CBS Early Show statistics:
  • 3.2 Million Viewers
  • Total Value for Tahiti exceeds $500,000 USD

CBS Early Show "All Access Tahiti"
CBS is one of the three major networks throughout the United States. The Early Show airs daily between 7:00 – 9:00 AM Eastern time. Dave Price has been the weather anchor and a feature reporter for CBS News' The Early Show since July 2003. In addition to in-studio forecasts and reports, Price can be seen entertaining crowds live on the plaza outside the CBS studios.

During a set six-week period, the CBS Early Show correspondent, Dave Price, selects one lucky winner each Friday from their audience to join him and his crew for an “All Access” VIP tour to one of six premier destinations somewhere in the world. Thanks to Spring O’Brien, Air Tahiti Nui’s PR firm, Tahiti was included as one of the six destinations to host the “All Access” tour!

The Early Show aired the “All Access Tahiti” escape on Wednesday, March 7 at 8:30 AM to over 3.2 million viewers nationwide throughout the United States.

On Friday March 2nd, the Early Show was brought to viewers nationwide, live from our capital, Washington D.C., at the Air and Space Museum. There, Frank Kulbaski was chosen as the winner to accompany Dave Price to “an exotic destination somewhere in the world.”

Karell Voelkel from Air Tahiti Nui's New York office presented an oversized boarding pass (in order for viewers to see) for one roundtrip Poerava First Class seat to the lucky winner for this exceptional prize. Air Tahiti Nui and Tahiti Tourisme North America also arranged to have Tahitian dancers there as well, who you can see performing in the background during the giveaway (link above).

Following the prize giveaway, Dave Price and Frank Kulbaski headed for JFK to board Air Tahiti Nui’s nonstop service from New York to Tahiti.

Upon arrival in Tahiti, they gave the winner the opportunity to sleep for about four hours before the whirlwind tour of the islands began (click below to view the segment online).

Highlights from the 48-hour nonstop “All Access” trip to the islands of Tahiti, Moorea, and Tetiaroa included:
  • Breakfast delivered by outrigger canoe at the InterContinental Tahiti Resort
  • Tu'aro maohi (traditional Tahitian sport) training
  • Snorkeling in coral gardens
  • Shark and ray feeding
  • A helicopter tour of Tahiti, Moorea, and Tetiaroa
  • A tour of Tetiaroa with Teihotu Brando
  • Swimming with the dolphins at the Moorea Dolphin Center
On behalf of the destination, we would like to send a special thanks to all of the Partners that made this possible. As many of you in the islands know, it was quite a bit of work for everyone involved!
